Thank you for another incredible year for Tee It Up! For The GFPD! Our final numbers are in, and we raised over $165,000 - our best result yet in the 6 years of our event! We had a wonderful day on the golf course in May, and we were thrilled to see all of the frequent and fierce bidding in our online auction.
The money you have helped us raise over the years has made such a difference for the GFPD, opening new doors to important, ground-breaking research for Max and so many children in our GFPD family. Over the 6 years we have held Tee It Up, you have helped us raise an amazing $850,000!
Thank you!!

2020
In this most unusual of years, we are thrilled to announce that Tee It Up! For The GFPD 2020 raised an astounding total of over $155,000!! Your faithful and generous sponsorships and donations collectively topped all previous totals, and our auction donors contributed to the success of our first ever online auction. We are most grateful for each of you and particularly thank those of you who participated virtually. Although we sorely missed the fun and fellowship of our reception and golf outing, we’d especially thank those of you who generously left your registrations with us as donations.
As always, all proceeds go directly to The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders, which continues to advance desperately needed research and provides crucial support to families affected by peroxisomal disorders.
As we look to the future, we are still hoping to be together in person for Tee It Up! For The GFPD 2021. Please Save the Date for a Reception on Thursday, May 20th and our Golf Outing on Friday, May 21st. This year has shown us the need to be flexible and make adjustments as necessary.
We've seen some fierce bidding already on our online auction, but there's still time to bid. Bidding closes tonight at 9:00 pm CST. Don't miss out on these fantastic items! If you've already bid - go check and see if you're still winning! There's also an option to donate on the same page if you'd rather make a donation.
Also, please tune in to our Facebook page at 7:30 pm tonight for a special live broadcast, including a special performance by Dan Hubbard!
Following the close of the auction, we will be in touch with the winners over the next few days to arrange delivery of your items.
We hope everyone's summer is going well and you're all staying safe. We are thrilled to announce that our Tee It Up! online auction is now open and we have over 90 exciting items up for bid!
We were extremely disappointed to cancel our in-person events in May due to the COVID-19 situation, but we are excited to be able to offer up many outstanding items for a virtual online auction! This is our first-ever online auction for our event and bidding is open now until Thursday, August 13th at 9:00 p.m. (CST).
It's Tee It Up week! And usually we'd be running around figuring out last minute details, setting up auction items, and scheduling golf pairings, and then catching our breath before the incredible two day sequence of our Reception and Golf Outing. While we can't all be together in person this year, we still want to celebrate Tee It Up! virtually and continue to spread awareness of the mission of the GFPD.
We invite everyone to celebrate Tee It Up! and the GFPD on Friday, May 15th by wearing your favorite Tee It Up or GFPD apparel!
Regrettably, we are announcing that Tee It Up! For The GFPD 2020 will not be held May 14-15 as scheduled. Illinois State University is requiring that all events and activities scheduled to be held on campus through July 31, 2020 be postponed or cancelled and the State of Illinois has now extended the Stay-at-Home order through May. Although we are disappointed, we completely support these moves in the interest of everyone’s health and safety. We explored several possible options to reschedule later in the year, but with the evolving guidance from health officials and the uncertainty ahead, we have reluctantly reached the conclusion that our most safe and prudent course of action is to cancel our Reception and Golf Outing for this year. We are still planning to hold an online auction of our donated items later this summer to help promote those sponsors who have helped out so far. More details will be coming soon.
The outbreak of the COVID-19/Coronavirus across the world has quickly affected several charity events this spring, and unfortunately Tee It Up is no exception. We have no changes to announce at this time, but we are closely monitoring all the news and the guidance from the CDC and Illinois State University to see what is realistic come May 14-15.
One of the highlights of our event each year is seeing a number of families with children like Max who are affected by Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorder come together at Tee It Up and get a chance to meet our local community, and we certainly don't want to hold an event that in any way could be a risk for either those families or our attendees. We are looking at all options in the event we need to change things up, but we do want to let you know that we fully intend on having our auction at a minimum, as we do have the capability to transition to an online auction. If we go that route, an online auction would give everyone the chance to bid on items even if they would be unable to attend an in-person event.
In the meantime, please stay safe and be smart. Keep washing your hands, exercise social distancing, and #stayinside to avoid spreading germs to others, especially anyone who may have a weaker immune system. And please think about ways to share kindness during this time of uncertainty.

2019
This year, Tee It Up! raised over $145,000 for the GFPD! This outstanding amount is a direct reflection of the amazing support from all of you, so thank you very, very much! Over the four years we've held this event, we've now raised over $500,000 in total for this wonderful organization! The funds raised at Tee It Up! will continue to open more doors in the research community and support more families affected by PBD.
We had a fantastic reception on Thursday, May 16th, with Dan Hubbardperforming live and Joe Strupek serving as our hilarious emcee for the live auction. Researcher Esther Nuebel also provided a wonderful update regarding her leading edge research around peroxisomal biochemistry. Word has spread regarding our event and we had the largest turnout of GFPD families from across the US, including Chris Ostertag who shared his experience as a father of a child with a peroxisomal disorder. Then, on Friday, May 17th, we had a perfect day of golf at Weibring Golf Club with over 240 golfers on the course! We even had one golfer who made a full day of it and played both the morning and afternoon sessions - another first for Tee It Up!
On behalf of our family and the entire GFPD community, thank you to every one of you who sponsored, donated, attended, and volunteered for Tee It Up! Your outstanding support inspires us and gives us hope that a treatment for PBD is possible!
